All Summer we’ve been sharing mindset tips, everything from positivity to conquering fear and caring less about others’ opinions to avoiding the “busy” trap. So, how do we make these things stick? It’s really a daily practice of doing the work. Some days you’re going to wake up strong with the sun shining. Yet there will still be days when you get up on the wrong side of the bed. How do you keep your mind in check? Here are 3 tips:
Journal – Learn to journal with pen to paper, and that doesn’t mean “Dear Diary”. Dump out your thoughts and see which ones you like and which you want to tweak. It might be slow going at first, but you’ll be surprised with practice – your mind can hold a lot of thoughts at one time!
Thought Work – Pull out the great thoughts and find a way to recall them, like a post-it or an alarm on your phone. Play with a thought that doesn’t serve you. Do you just want to recognize it for now? Are you ready to level-up the thought? Or is it just a thought that needs less airtime and focus?
Silence – Find a little peace and quiet each day. Just start with a 1 minute timer on your phone to give your mind a break and a little bit of calm amidst the chaos.
I was a resistant mindset student. I avoided it for a long time. It seemed awkward and purposeless. But somewhere along the way I decided to give it a try. And through challenging times, it’s the tool that helps me move forward. It’s my go-to tool for my own personal development.
HARNESS THE POWER OF YOUR MIND.

I founded Mom Mastermind to create the coaching and community that I desired when I was advancing my career. During my time with a large consulting firm and as Senior Vice President and CFO for a large company, I craved a network of women in similar life stages to learn from and connect with. We bring indivdiual working moms together to connect, lift each other up and propel one another forward as we redefine joy in career AND motherhood.
